The Monolith [2026]
A Speculative Social Game on AI & Culture created by The Machine Agencies Research Group and produced by the Milieux Institute and the Hexagram Network
Project description:
Under the guidance of a live facilitation team, players enter an evolving game with an AI agent—one that drafts, adapts, and shifts its own rules in real time.
The system listens. The system responds. The system reaches toward a life of its own.
Part interactive experiment, part speculative game, The Monolith invites participants to evaluate Monolith AI’s initiatives that push the limits of creativity and art through technological innovation.
As AI, algorithmic automation, and digital systems reshape how we sense, know, and relate to the world, the most pressing question is no longer what technology can do, but what we want it to become.”
— Sarah Mackenzie, Director of MUTEK Forum and Creative Development.
