Premiere | 'Books'

26197826_10209704383720347_2392480814358929071_o.jpg

What do we do with all these books?

Books is a performance with and about books. In collaboration with four performers, director Patrick Blenkarn uses books and bodies to sculpt an encounter of ideas ― chaos, order, labour, devotion, knowledge, and consumption. Mixing the durational and the visceral, Books opens a space for the spectator to witness and experience the all-too-human attempt to pursue and preserve stories and sense.

Concept and direction by Patrick Blenkarn
Choreography by Linnea Gwiazda
Performed by Brian Postalian, Nicola Rough, Montserrat Videla, and Johnny Wu
Lighting by Celeste English
Projection by Milton Lim
Sound by Sam Ferguson

Workshop | 'Victim Impact' at Playwright's Theatre Centre

Samji+Sentence.png

Milton will be designing projection for Theatre Conspiracy's upcoming show: Victim Impact.

Writer/producer Tim CarlsonDavid Mesiha and dramaturg Kathleen Flaherty have been meeting to plan production of the Victim Impact Podcast, which is due to hit the internet first thing in January 2018. The six-part podcast series is a companion to and an unpacking of Victim Impact (the play), which is in workshop in October and in production in June, 2018.  When Tim started on his journey following Ponzi schemes, he got deep into the story of Rashida Samji’s fake investment, which soon became the focus. It led him into the lives of victims, and through a tangle of fascinating information about banking and law enforcement and fraud that can’t be unravelled in a play.

For the October workshop, Tim Carlson and Kathleen Flaherty will be working with designers Milton Lim and David Mesiha, director Jiv Parasram and actors Nimet KanjiRisha NandaMunish SharmaAllan Morgan and Jenn Griffin. Community Outreach Coordinator Gavan Cheema will be funneling information to the actors.

M+A (gallery performance)

Goldin and Senneby’s M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)

Performed at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery (UBC), from February 12 - 23, 2017.

The performer takes on a precarious/variable contract based on artists fees that have been invested into an algorithm in the stock market, rehearsing a script for anywhere between two days to....whenever. The duration of the contract is directly related to the volatility of the market.
